The story of this competition begins with an amazing lady called Victoria, a true visionary who has been planning and organising the Greerton Illuminart event for a couple of years. Ever since she first asked me to be involved in the event by adding a lantern display to this already fabulous winter event, she has been talking about her idea of organising a competition for light art installations.
She gets so excited about how amazing a collective display of light art could be that this year I said lets do it!
My interest is in people from all walks of life making art, so being involved in a project where people are encouraged to think outside the box and make something truly unique is right up my alley.
This project is sponsored by Greerton Village Mainstreet so they and Victoria and I will all be excited to see what you come up with, happy making!

Where is IlluminArt held?
What do we mean by "Installation"?
We mean a 3 dimensional art work that fits with the site which is an outdoor space.

What do we mean by "Light Art"?
Well it's a night event which takes place in winter so we want you to light up the dark in some way.
It could be a simple as using candles, or white paper lit up with a UV light, neon lighting, projected images, interactive art, tiny worlds, huge sculpture.... whatever your creative mind can think of we are interested in.
